As of 2015 R-22 refrigerant will be ILLEGAL

It has been talked about for a long time, but as of 1st January 2015 R-22 refrigerant will be ILLEGAL!!!!!! R-22 is the most widely used refrigerant in the world, however it is classified as an ozone-depleting substance and is subject of a phase-out programme under European Community (EC) Regulation no. S.2037/2000 and 1005/2009. This means that the use of R-22 in any air conditioning system, heat pump or refrigeration equipment will become illegal for service and maintenance purposes from 1st January 2015. Renewal Heat Incentive has been extended

Don’t forget that there is still time to claim your Renewal Heat Incentive. The Renewable Heat Premium Payment is a one-off grant designed to help towards meeting the costs of installing renewable technologies in your home. An extension to the Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP) scheme was announced by the Department of Energy and Climate Change on 26th March 2013. The scheme is being extended until the end of March 2014, ahead of the RHI scheme for householders.
